Off'Grants 2026

The grant is intended exclusively to help fund the diversity and representativeness of the foreign companies scheduled to perform at the 60th festival Off Avignon, and applies from the first kilometre, from their country of origin to Avignon.

This is project-specific funding earmarked for the travel of the artistic and technical teams of these companies. Under no circumstances may it be used for programming outside the above-mentioned framework.

The grant is awarded by a committee made up of members of the international working group elected by the Board of Directors, as well as other relevant individuals.

All members vote. In the event of a tie, the co-presidents have the casting vote. Applications are first reviewed by the team and then submitted to the committee.

Selected companies receive 40% of the grant after validation, and 60% at the end of the festival, upon submission of the required documents.

If these documents are not provided, the remaining balance may not be paid.

NB: Any misuse of information may result in full reimbursement of the grant and exclusion from this support scheme for 5 years. In serious cases, access to AF&C services may also be revoked (see our General Terms and Conditions).

These criteria define the mandatory conditions for eligibility to financial aid. Any application must fully comply with them to be considered valid.

• Submit only one application per organisation per year;
• Provide information on the remuneration of artists and technicians on tour as part of their participation in the festival Off Avignon;
• Take part in the 60th festival Off Avignon for a minimum of 9 performances;
• A minimum of 10 tickets per performance of the supported show must be made available for sale on the Ticket'Off platform[1];
• Have a balanced and coherent provisional budget;

• _{Justifier de frais de déplacement d’un seuil minimum de 1 000 € ;}
• _{Renseigner les modalités de rémunération des artistes et technicien·es en tournée dans le cadre de leur participation au festival Off Avignon ;}
• _{Participer à la 60e édition du festival Off Avignon pour un minimum de 9 représentations ;}
• _{Un quota minimum de 10 places par représentation du spectacle soutenu doit obligatoirement être mis en vente sur la plateforme Ticket’Off[1] ;}
• _{Avoir un budget prévisionnel équilibré et cohérent.}

[1] If the beneficiary company or production organisation is not responsible for managing ticket sales, it is their responsibility to ensure that the venue hosting the performance complies with this obligation. Otherwise, the grant may not be maintained.

The following elements are taken into account when reviewing applications:

• Number of artists on stage;
• Number of previous participations in the festival Off Avignon;
• Number of previous Off'Grants obtained;
• Distance from Avignon (in km);
• Type of transport used (train preferred);
• Country representativeness in terms of the number of performances scheduled at the festival Off Avignon;
• In relation to the overall provisional budget of the supported project, the rate of public and/or private funding (excluding Off'Grants) obtained to support the applicant company's participation in the festival Off Avignon 2026.

• _{Au regard du budget prévisionnel global du projet aidé, taux d’aides publiques et/ou privées (hors Off’Grants) obtenues pour accompagner la participation de la compagnie au festival Off Avignon 2026.}

Once the applications have been prioritised, they are ranked in descending order of priority. The top 15 will receive funding.

These applications will then share the total budget of €20,000, in proportion to their actual transport costs.

The grant is paid in two instalments:

• 40% of the amount once the first deliberation has been issued;
• 60% upon receipt of additional documents.

When submitting your application

• Estimate/invoice for transport costs in the name of the production organisation applying for the grant (plane, train, bus tickets, etc.);
• Presentation document of the show (maximum 2 pages);
• Rental or co-production contract signed by both parties (theatre and company/production organisation);
• Provisional operating budget;
• If applicable, proof of artist remuneration;
• Declaration of the legal form of the production structure, where possible;
• IBAN and BIC codes;

• If applicable, proof of salary payment;

Laureate companies and production organisations undertake to list the selected show on Ticket'Off.

While not mandatory for the payment of the grant, the winning structure is invited to join the association and become a member.
