Après avoir reçu Taïwan (Chine) en 2024, puis le Brésil en 2025, le festival Off Avignon fait de la Méditerranée son invitée d’honneur, en écho à la Saison Méditerranée organisée par l’Institut français.
Espace crucial dans l’histoire et le développement des peuples et nations qui l’occupent. La Méditerranée est un endroit de multiplicité culturelle. Berceau de grandes civilisations ainsi que des trois religions monothéistes, elle incarne un espace géopolitique complexe, traversé par des interdépendances économiques, des tensions culturelles et religieuses, ainsi que par l’influence des grandes puissances internationales. Aujourd’hui, s’il est marqué par les conflits, le bassin méditerranéen est aussi un territoire où s’opèrent de nombreuses dynamiques de coopération.
Malgré ses fractures et sa diversité, la Méditerranée demeure un espace lumineux, porteur d’espoir. Cette vitalité se reflète dans les arts et la culture, comme en témoigne la parole de ses créateur·rices contemporain·es qui ne cessent d’interroger les réalités, les mémoires et les imaginaires de ce territoire aux multiples facettes.
Une programmation artistique riche et diversifiée, autour de la culture, des talents et de la singularité des différents pays de la Méditerranée ponctuera le festival avec différents rendez-vous : exposition, projections, concerts, rencontres, tables rondes, spectacles...
After welcoming Taiwan (China) in 2024, followed by Brazil in 2025, the festival Off Avignon is making the Mediterranean its guest of honour, echoing the Saison Méditerranée organized by the Institut français.
This region occupies a crucial place in the history and development of the peoples and nations that inhabit it. The Mediterranean a place of cultural multiplicity. As the cradle of great civilizations as well as the three monotheistic religions, it embodies a highly complex geopolitical area, shaped by economic interdependencies, cultural and religious tensions, as well as the influence of major international powers. Today, although marked by conflict, the Mediterranean basin is also an area where numerous cooperative dynamics are at work. Despite its fractures and diversity, the Mediterranean remains a luminous space, carrying hope. This vitality is reflected in arts and culture, as demonstrated by the voices of its contemporary creators who continuously question the realities, memories, and imaginations of this diverse region.
A rich and diverse artistic programme, centred on the culture, talent and uniqueness of the various Mediterranean countries, will punctuate the festival with a range of events: exhibitions, screenings, concerts, meetings, round-table discussions, performances...

La mer blanche du milieu est une exploration sensible et métaphorique de la notion d’identité à travers les territoires méditerranéens. Dans un contexte où les frontiaires se ferment et où identités se durcissent, cette exposition propose un regard apaisé sur ce qui crée un sentiment d’appartenance des gestes, une lumière, une résonance intime.
Discover the works of Mouna Saboni and Asma Ben Aïssa with the exhibition La mer blanche du milieu, in partnership with the École Supérieure d’Art d’Avignon (ESAA) and the Montresso Foundation. La mer blanche du milieu is a sensitive and metaphorical exploration of the concept of identity across Mediterranean territories. In a context where borders are closing and identities are hardening, this exhibition offers a peaceful look at what creates a sense of belonging: gestures, a light, an intimate resonance.

Toutes les composantes du projet Lumière Méditerranée sont à explorer grâce à l'identité graphique réalisée à partir de l'oeuvre des étudiants Julia Cabresin, Adélie Fabijan, et Alix Préchac dans le cadre d'un partenariat avec l'ESAA (École Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon).
Elles proposent une composition de linogravures, tantôt utilisées seules ou ensemble, qui viennent représenter tant la singularité de la richesse culturelle méditerranéenne que son héritage collectif.
All aspects of the Lumière Méditerranée project can be explored through the graphic identity created from the work of students Julia Cabresin, Adélie Fabijan and Alix Préchac as part of a partnership with the ESAA (École Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon). They offer a composition of linocuts, used either individually or together, which represent both the uniqueness of the Mediterranean's cultural richness and its collective heritage.
