Myriam Naisy

Premiere in Avignon

Show resume

“De plumes et de plomb” Feather and Lead is a solo inspired by the book of McLuhan “bare feet on the sacred land”, about Indian nature and destiny. A solo between earth and air. It is the story of a proud warrior trapped in the center of an incandescent circle. Perched on her high heels, dressed with fur, she fights a wind of fury and tries to free herself from invisible chains. Then her fur-lined coat transforms itself into the feathers of Indian Chiefs that are scattered in her hair. Her feet are now bare and light. They move in an astral dance on the edge of the world. She enters into a mysterious incantation till she becomes cosmic light.

“Sous-venance Sur-venance” is an invitation to a timeless journey, weaving between enigmatic worries, desire and crossover encounters. Anouar Brahem, emblematic oudist is one of the most influential figure in contemporary music. His sumptuous melodies bewitch our senses from ashen skies to dazzling lights. In counterpoint, whispers and breaths of Jacky Mérit build the underlying tension. Those soundscapes inspire Myriam Naisy for elegant lines, pure movements, sensual though prude fados. With awesome sculptures of M-A! and the three amazing dancers Nicolas Maye, Audrey Hector and Claire Massias, secret paths inside our bodies are drawn. It is a chiselled writing, soft silky patting, dances of tears, sand and wind.
